Research Concordia help map the brain to look for love and lust. Thanks to modern science, now we can know the love is in the brain, not the heart. But, Which part of the brain that stores the love?
Does love being with sexual desire? International study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicinemenjadi first create a map that connects this feeling.
"No one ever combine these two patterns in the activation of the same," said Jim Pfaus as professor of psychology at Concordia University.
"We do not know what the expect. Both could end up being different. Activation of love and lust was specific, but related to the areas of the brain," he said as quoted from Earthsky.
Researchers in the United States and Switzerland found two brain structures, the insula and striatum. Both are responsible for tracking the progression of sexual desire and love.
Love and lust are active in different areas of the striatum. Areas of sexual desire is usually triggered activation related issues such as sex and food satisfaction.
Area activation of love involves the creation of conditions associated with reward or pleasure as the value contained therein. This is what makes the feeling of sexual attraction develops into love. They are processed in a different place.
"Love is custom built from sexual desire as a reward. It works the same way as the brains of people who are addicted to drugs," said Pfaus.
