Experts Find Bacteria Trigger Body Odor

Not easily counteract body odor less unpleasant and often stubborn. Deodorants are usually only able to survive a few hours when it is used. However, experts now recognize the smell of the main triggers.

A new study shows exactly bacterial gene that plays a key role on the incidence of the bad smell of the body. The researchers also revealed that these findings could lead to new ways to control body odor problem.

Body odor arises when the bacteria in the skin break down molecules in sweat. In this new study, the researchers found the bacteria Staphylococcus hominis DNA in producing proteins that break down molecules of sweat.

This protein is responsible for the break sweat molecules into compounds that contribute greatly to the body odor. This compound is sharp and in small quantities, which is about one part per trillion. According to this study, one of the genes in Staphylococcus hominis was also found in two species of staph bacteria associated odor.

The new research was presented at the annual Society for General Microbiology in Birmingham, England. Research in the meeting are generally considered in the early stages, until finally published in the journal.

"This study significantly improve our understanding of the specific biochemical processes that occur in the production of body odor. It is surprising that certain body odors produced by a small number of species of bacteria that live in the armpit," said lead researcher from the University of York, England, and Bawdon.

He added that the findings could help find a better way to control body odor. Deodorants and antiperspirants traditional work armpit kill all types of bacteria or blocking the sweat glands. The results of this study are expected to support the content or new compounds that can fight this source of odor.
